2025 Forest River Ahara 325RL Buyer's Guide

So what am I looking at with the 2025 Forest River Ahara 325RL?

A fifth wheel with three slides, 34 feet 9 inches of it, laid out as a front bedroom, a center bath and a rear living room. Standing in the middle of it, the first thing most people notice is headroom: 78 inches, so a six-footer isn't ducking under the A/C vents. The cabinetry is Barrington Maple, which keeps the inside lighter than the darker woods you'll see on a lot of fifth wheels. Outside width is 8 feet 5 inches and overall height is 13 feet 5 inches, worth writing down before you plan a route with low overpasses.

What truck do I need to tow it?
Start with the pin. Hitch weight is 2,185 pounds, and that sits in the bed of your truck, over the rear axle, on top of whatever else you've loaded. Dry weight is 11,759 pounds with a GVWR of 15,500, riding on two 7,000-pound axles. In real terms that's three-quarter-ton territory at a minimum, and most people towing this comfortably through Parley's or up to Bear Lake are doing it with a one-ton. Bring your truck's door-jamb sticker when you come look, and we'll do the payload math with you at the counter rather than guessing.

Setting up is powered at both ends, with front power and rear power leveling jacks, so you're working a switch instead of a crank handle on gravel.
It'll also pull something behind it. Towing capacity is 3,000 pounds, which covers a small utility trailer or a pair of side-by-sides on a light hauler.
Good fit if you tow with a three-quarter-ton or one-ton truck and you want a couple with room to host, since the rear living room and the 50-amp service are built around spending real time parked.
Look at something else if you need to sleep more than four, because this floorplan is rated for four and there are no bunks.
Where does everyone sleep?

The front bedroom takes a king bed, and there's a TV in there as well. Sleeps-four is the rating, so think couple, or couple plus two. The washer and dryer prep is there if you're the kind of owner who stays put for a month at a time and doesn't want to hunt down a laundromat.
Where does the cooking actually happen?

Inside, you get a four-burner cooktop and a 16 cubic foot 12-volt residential refrigerator with French doors and a double drawer freezer. That's a full-size kitchen fridge, not a camping fridge, and because it runs on 12 volts it keeps working off the batteries while you drive.

Counter space and storage run along the kitchen, and hot water comes from an on-demand tankless water heater, so the second and third showers are the same temperature as the first.
There's an outdoor kitchen too. Burgers and fish get cooked out there, which keeps the smell and the mess out of a coach you just cleaned.
What's the rear living room set up for?

Rear entertainment, with a 50-inch LED TV on a swing arm so you can aim it at the seating or at the dinette. Two power awnings with LED lighting mean you can shade more than one side of the trailer, and the lights are handy when you're playing cards outside after dark.
How long can we camp without hookups?
Fresh water is 64 gallons, grey is 88 and black is 44. The grey tank being that large is the useful part, since dishes and showers are usually what sends people to the dump station first.

Power is where this one is set up well for Utah dispersed camping. There's a 430-watt solar package on the roof feeding a 2,000-watt inverter with a 50-amp controller, so the residential refrigerator, the TVs and the outlets keep running without a generator on a sunny day.
Two 30-pound LP tanks handle the furnace, the cooktop and the water heater. Shore power is 50 amp, which is what you want with 45,000 BTU of air conditioning on the roof.
Where does the gear go?

Cargo capacity is 3,741 pounds, and that's a genuinely large number for a trailer this size. Pass-through storage runs across the front of the chassis, deep enough for camp chairs, leveling blocks, a generator and the bins everybody swears they'll unpack at home.
How does it handle cold nights?
A 40,000 BTU furnace, which is plenty of heat for 34 feet. Between that and the tankless water heater, shoulder-season trips in October and April are reasonable here. The 45,000 BTU of A/C covers the other end, which matters in July when you're parked at 4,500 feet in the valley instead of up in the pines.
What does the bathroom look like?

Center bath, with a 30 by 48 inch shower. That's a real shower footprint, not a corner box you have to turn sideways in.

Is there a spot for a washer and dryer?
Yes, this floorplan is set up to accept a washer and dryer.
