2025 Forest River Viking 11000 ROK Tour

Walking up to the 2025 Forest River Viking 11000 ROK

The first thing you'll notice on the lot is how little of it this one takes up. Sixteen feet and one inch of overall length, eight feet tall, eight foot four across. That means it fits in a standard garage bay at home in most cases, it doesn't blot out your mirrors on I-15, and it tucks into the short, tree-pinched spots at places like Payson Lakes where the 30-footers have to keep driving. If you've been shopping small travel trailers because your driveway or your tow vehicle set the limit, this is the size class you were looking at.

Single axle underneath, 15-inch tires, Lippert chassis. Simple running gear, fewer things to service, and a spare tire and carrier comes with it, which matters more here than it does in a lot of places. US-6 through Spanish Fork Canyon and the gravel two-tracks out toward the San Rafael Swell are hard on sidewalls, and a single-axle trailer doesn't limp anywhere on a flat.

Up at the tongue you've got 265 pounds of hitch weight and a 20-pound LP bottle. Dry weight is 2,419 pounds and the GVWR is 3,765, which leaves you 1,346 pounds of cargo capacity. That's a genuinely useful number for a trailer this size. Load firewood, a cooler, camp chairs, a dog crate and a couple of bikes worth of gear and you're still under. Check your own rating against 3,765 loaded, not against the dry weight.

The nine-foot power awning runs off a switch, so you're not wrestling an arm by yourself at the end of a long drive. Shade is not a luxury in Utah. It's the difference between sitting outside at 2 p.m. in Moab and sitting inside.
The outdoor kitchen and where the gear goes

Four leveling jacks drop down to take the bounce out of the floor once you're parked, and the pass-through storage swallows the long, dirty, awkward items you don't want inside: leveling blocks, hoses, a camp table, folding chairs.

The ROK kitchen package is the reason a lot of people buy this floorplan. It's a pull-out griddle and grill combo cooktop, so breakfast happens outside with two burners going and the smell stays out of the trailer. Pancakes on the griddle, brats on the grill, and the whole thing slides back in when you're done. If you camp with a dog, a toddler or anyone who hates the smell of fried fish at 7 a.m., an outdoor kitchen earns its keep fast.

Inside this lightweight travel trailer

Through the door, the dinette is where you'll spend evenings. It's your table, your card game, your laptop desk when the weather turns and you're waiting out a thunderstorm over the Uintas.

The 3.3 cubic foot refrigerator is a 12-volt unit, which is the detail that makes dry camping work. It runs off the battery instead of needing propane or shore power to stay cold, so your food is fine at a trailhead with no hookups. There's a microwave for reheating, a hot and cold faucet at the sink, and multiple overhead storage cabinets so your dry goods and dishes have a home instead of riding on the counter.
Power, heat and water
A 200-watt solar panel with a 30-amp controller comes with it. That's the piece that turns a weekend into four or five days out on Forest Service land above Strawberry without starting a generator. Pair it with the 12-volt fridge and the math works.
Fresh water is 26 gallons, with 25 gallons of grey and 25 of black. Two people being reasonable about dishes and showers get roughly three days out of that. The water heater is on demand and tankless, so you aren't waiting on a tank to recover and you aren't carrying the weight of one, either.
The furnace is 20,000 BTU in a space this small, which is exactly what you want in Utah. Nights at 8,000 feet drop into the 30s in September. Camp at Mirror Lake in June and you'll still want heat in the morning. For the other half of the year there's a 5,000 BTU air conditioner, sized right for the square footage.
Sleeping and the bathroom

Sleeps two. The bed is listed as a king, with a two-twin configuration available, so you can set it up the way you actually sleep. No slides to deploy means you can pull into a dispersed spot after dark, drop the jacks and go to bed without any setup ceremony.

There's a bathroom on board with a 25-gallon black tank behind it, which is the whole argument for a trailer over a tent at a trailhead. No midnight walk to a vault toilet, no hunting for facilities at a dispersed site.
Who this one fits
This is a Forest River travel trailer built for a couple, or one person and a dog, who want to go often rather than go big. If you're cross-shopping new travel trailers and your tow vehicle is an SUV or a half-ton, the 11000 ROK keeps you in the easy range of your rating instead of the nervous end of it. It also comes with Travel Easy roadside assistance and carries the RVIA seal.
Among the travel trailers for sale in Utah, the short, light, solar-equipped ones move quickest in spring, because that's when people realize their truck can't pull what they originally wanted.
Frequently asked questions
How many people does this floorplan sleep?
Two. The bed is listed as a king, and a two-twin arrangement is available if you'd rather sleep that way.
What do I need to tow it?
Dry weight is 2,419 pounds with a 265-pound hitch weight, and loaded to the GVWR it's 3,765 pounds. Compare your vehicle's tow rating to that 3,765 number.
Can I dry camp in it?
Yes. It comes with a 200-watt solar panel and 30-amp controller, a 12-volt refrigerator and 26 gallons of fresh water, with 25 gallons each of grey and black holding capacity.
Will it stay warm in the mountains?
The furnace is 20,000 BTU running off a 20-pound LP bottle, which is plenty of heat for a trailer this size on a cold Utah night. There's also a 5,000 BTU air conditioner for summer.
Does it have an outdoor kitchen?
It does. The ROK kitchen package includes a pull-out griddle and grill combo cooktop with two burners, so cooking happens outside under the nine-foot power awning.
