2026 CNW A-LINER Ranger 12 Specs & Towing

A Walk Around the 2026 CNW A-LINER Ranger 12
If you shop by the numbers, the 2026 CNW A-LINER Ranger 12 gives you a short list to work with: 1,510 pounds dry, a 3,000-pound GVWR, 150 pounds on the ball and 15 feet of trailer behind you. That's the whole argument for a small pop up camper like this one, and it's the first thing we talk about on the lot here in Millcreek.

What those towing numbers actually mean
Start with the dry weight of 1,510 pounds and the GVWR of 3,000 pounds. Cargo capacity is listed at 1,275 pounds, which is a lot of margin on a trailer this size. Fill the 11 gallons of fresh water, load your gear, bring the cooler, and you're still a long way from the ceiling. The point is you're not weighing out your camp chairs before a trip.

Hitch weight is listed at 150 pounds dry, roughly ten percent of the dry weight, which is where you want a single-axle trailer to sit. Load heavy ahead of the axle and that tongue number climbs, so weigh it loaded if you can. Most half-ton pickups and a good number of midsize SUVs will handle this, but don't take my word for it or anybody else's: check the tow rating and the tongue weight rating in your own owner's manual and on your door jamb sticker, with your passengers and gear counted in. That's the number that matters, not the one on a brochure.
Dimensionally it's 15 feet long (open length is also 15 feet flat), 6 feet 5 inches wide and 10 feet of exterior height, riding on one axle with 14-inch aluminum wheels. At that width it tracks behind a truck without you hunting for it in the mirrors, and it fits a standard garage bay and most driveways better than anything with two axles under it.
Three numbers decide this trailer for most people: 1,510 pounds dry tells you what your vehicle has to pull, 150 pounds of hitch weight tells you whether your receiver and rear suspension are happy, and 1,275 pounds of cargo capacity tells you how much of your own stuff can come along.
If all three clear your tow vehicle's ratings with room left over, the rest of the decision is about how you camp.

Off-grid capacity
Fresh water is 11 gallons. There is no grey tank and no black tank, which sounds like a limitation until you see how the plumbing is set up. The toilet is a hidden swivel cassette unit, so you carry the waste out and dump it rather than chasing a dump station with the trailer in tow. Grey water you manage with a jug or a bucket under the drain. For dry camping in the Uintas or out on BLM ground past Delle, that's a simpler system with less to freeze and less to flush.

Power is handled by a 185-watt solar panel on the front dormer, standard, feeding the house battery while you're parked. A second 185-watt panel on the rear dormer is available if you want to double the harvest. The 3.1 cubic foot refrigerator runs on 12 volt, so it lives off that same solar and battery rather than needing propane or a generator to keep cold.
Hot water comes from an on-demand water heater, so there's no tank to wait on and no tank to drain. There's also an outside shower, which gets used more than people expect for rinsing boots, dogs and bikes.
Sleeping and storage

It sleeps two, on a 70-inch by 76-inch bed. Interior height is a full 8 feet, so you stand up straight inside and the space doesn't feel like you're camping in a box.

Storage is better than the footprint suggests. There's hanging and shelf storage inside for clothes and the things you don't want loose on the road, plus a pass-through compartment you load from outside for chairs, hoses, leveling blocks and the dirty gear that shouldn't come in.
The equipment tour

The galley uses Euro flush-mount hardware, meaning the sink and the two-burner stove top sit level with the counter. The dinette gives you the place to eat, work and play cards, and it's where you'll spend evenings when the weather pushes you inside.
Climate control is covered from both ends. An 18,000 BTU furnace handles October in the Wasatch Back, and the air conditioning is a heat pump, so it does double duty on cool mornings when you don't want to burn propane. Interior lighting is LED throughout, and the running lights are LED as well.

Outside, you get front utility lights for setting up after dark, an exterior outlet, an outside LP connection for a grill or fire pit, and keyless entry so there's one less thing on the keyring. Raising and lowering the roof uses high wind lift assist, which takes the fight out of the job when the canyon breeze picks up.

If you've been looking at a new pop up camper because you want the towing numbers of a tent trailer with a hard roof and real appliances, this is the floorplan to stand inside before you decide. We keep pop up campers for sale in Utah on the lot here year round, and this one is easy to compare side by side with the rest.

What kind of vehicle do I need to tow it?
