2026 Winnebago Thrive 24RKS Walkthrough

Hitching up and heading out
The walk-around for the 2026 Winnebago Thrive 24RKS starts at the tongue, because that's where the trip starts. Hitch weight is 770 pounds, dry weight is 6,480, and the GVWR is 8,800, which leaves you 1,425 pounds of cargo capacity to work with once you're loaded. Those numbers matter in Utah more than they do most places, since a lot of your towing is uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back. Do the math on your truck's payload against that 770-pound tongue weight before you buy, and the rest of the conversation gets easy.

It rides on two axles with 15-inch tires, runs 29 feet 4 inches end to end, 8 feet wide and 11.33 feet tall. Measure your garage door and your gate. Height is the spec people forget until they're already under something.

Pulling in and setting up the 2026 Winnebago Thrive 24RKS
Once you're backed into the site, the one-touch powered stabilizer jacks do the leveling-up work. You hold a button instead of hunting for the crank handle in the dark. From there, the powered awning rolls out to 19 feet of shade with LED lights built into it, so the patio keeps working after the sun drops behind the ridge.

Power is 30-amp service, and there's 200 watts of solar on the roof feeding the batteries. That's the piece that changes how you camp. A new travel trailer with solar means a night or two at a trailhead or a state park without hookups doesn't have to end with a generator running at seven in the morning. The control panel keeps tank levels and systems in one place, so you can see where the 60 gallons of fresh water stand before you decide how long you're staying.

Outside, the pass-through storage swallows the gear that shouldn't come inside. Camp chairs, the folding table, leveling blocks, hoses. There's also an exterior kitchen, which is where most of the real cooking ends up happening in July. Burgers stay outside, the smell stays outside, and the inside of the coach stays cool.

Cooking and eating
Step in and the kitchen is set up to be used, not just looked at. Fiberglass countertops with integrated sinks mean no seam to catch crumbs and nothing to scrub around. There's a cooktop with an oven, so Dutch oven night isn't the only way to bake something. Cabinets are soft-close throughout, which sounds like a small thing until you've spent a weekend listening to doors slam every time someone walks past.

Storage is where this kitchen earns its keep. Pull-out pantry drawers with removable shelves let you set the spacing for what you actually pack, and there's built-in utensil and trash storage along with a pull-out trash and recycling bin. Nobody has to live with a grocery sack hanging off a drawer pull.

The refrigerator is 8 cubic feet, which is enough to shop for a week rather than a weekend, and it's a real difference when the nearest grocery store is forty minutes down the canyon.

Meals land at the U-shaped dinette. Four people fit around it without anyone straddling a table leg, and because it's a U, it doubles as the card table, the laptop desk and the spot where somebody sorts fishing tackle. The slide-out is what gives you the floor space to walk past it while someone's sitting down.

Settling in for the evening
The panoramic frameless window is the feature people comment on first. It pulls in the view and the light, and with 6 feet 8 inches of interior height the whole space reads bigger than the length suggests. Residential-style recessed lighting handles the general glow, and the JBL Bluetooth audio system plays inside and outside, so the music follows you to the awning without hauling a speaker around.

The furniture is domestic-built, which shows up in how it holds its shape after a few seasons. When the temperature drops (and in Utah it drops fast once the sun's gone), the 30,000 BTU furnace has plenty of capacity for a trailer this size.
Bedtime
The bedroom is set up for a queen, with reading lights so one person can finish a chapter while the other sleeps. Blackout roller shades are standard, and they matter at 6 a.m. in June. Closet storage means clothes hang instead of living in a duffel on the floor for four days.

The bathroom has a standard shower and runs off a tankless water heater, so the second and third showers are as warm as the first. Grey and black tanks are 49 gallons each, which pairs sensibly with the 60 gallons of fresh water. You're not dumping grey every day to keep up.

Morning and packing up
Tearing down follows the same path backward. The awning retracts on the switch, the jacks come up on the button, and the pass-through takes back the chairs and hoses. This Winnebago travel trailer sleeps four, so the morning routine doesn't involve folding away three beds before anybody can eat breakfast.

Come see how it sets up for yourself. We can walk you through it on the lot in Spanish Fork, Utah, or you can look over the photos and specs on the live listing first.
Frequently asked questions
What truck do I need to tow it?
Plan around 8,800 pounds GVWR and 770 pounds of hitch weight, not the 6,480-pound dry weight, since you'll be loaded. Bring your truck's door-jamb payload and tow numbers and we'll check them against the trailer with you.
How many people does this floorplan sleep?
Four, with a queen bed in the bedroom.
Can I camp off hookups in it?
Yes, within reason. It carries 200 watts of solar, 60 gallons of fresh water and 49 gallons each of grey and black, and electrical service is 30 amp when you're plugged in.
Does the 24RKS have outdoor cooking?
It does. There's an exterior kitchen, plus a 19-foot powered awning with LED lighting and indoor/outdoor Bluetooth audio to go with it.
Is there enough storage for longer trips?
Pass-through storage outside handles camp gear, and inside you get pull-out pantry drawers with removable shelves, soft-close cabinets and closet space in the bedroom. Cargo capacity is 1,425 pounds.
