Walking up to the 2027 KZRV Sportsmen 130BH

The first thing that registers when you walk up to the 2027 KZRV Sportsmen 130BH on our lot in Spanish Fork is how little road it takes up. It's 16 feet 9 inches long, 7 feet 6 inches wide and 8 feet 11 inches tall, which is a size you can actually live with the other fifty weekends of the year. It fits down a residential street without you holding your breath. It sits on a single axle, so backing it is more about patience than skill, and at just under nine feet tall you have a fighting chance with a tall garage door or a covered side yard.

Up at the coupler, the tongue jack carries 290 pounds of hitch weight. That's a number worth saying out loud, because it means hooking up isn't a two-person wrestling match and your tow vehicle isn't squatting the second you drop it on the ball. Weight distribution conversations get a lot simpler at this size.

Sportsmen 130BH — pass through storage
Pass through storage

Open the pass-through storage and you've got the home for the stuff you don't want inside the trailer. Camp chairs, a generator, firewood, the wet tent from the Uintas, leveling blocks. On a trailer this short, outside storage is what keeps the inside from turning into a garage.

Sportsmen 130BH — awning
Awning

The awning rolls out over the door side and gives you the shade that matters when you're parked out in the San Rafael Swell or on BLM ground west of Delta where there isn't a tree for miles. Utah sun in July is a real factor, and the patio under that awning ends up being where everybody actually sits.

Around back you'll find the tank dump. Thirty-two gallons of grey and 26 gallons of black is more holding capacity than a lot of trailers this length carry, and that ratio is the giveaway that somebody thought about how people really use a small travel trailer. You run out of shower and dish water long before you run out of tank.

Inside: where the square footage goes

Step through the door and the interior height is 6 feet 6 inches, so most adults stand up straight without ducking under the ceiling fan line or the cabinet corners. In a trailer this compact, headroom is what separates "cozy" from "crouched."

Sportsmen 130BH — kitchen
Kitchen

The kitchen runs along one wall with counter space to work on and cabinetry above and below it. It's a galley you cook breakfast in, not a chef's kitchen, and that's the honest way to describe it. You'll be making pancakes while somebody else is still in the bunks, and there's room to set things down while you do it.

The refrigerator sits right in the run of the kitchen cabinetry, which keeps the cold food and the cooking in the same three steps. Load it the night before at home, plug in, and it's ready when you pull out in the morning.

Sportsmen 130BH — bunk
Bunk

Bunks are the reason this floorplan exists. Kids claim them in about four seconds, and once the bunks are spoken for the rest of the trailer stops being a negotiation. They also double as cargo shelves on adults-only trips, which is how most couples end up using them.

Sportsmen 130BH — bedroom
Bedroom

The bed area is separated out so the adults aren't sleeping in the same airspace as the kids, which matters a lot more on night three than it does on night one. Sleeps 4 total, and that's a real four, not a four-with-an-asterisk.

Sportsmen 130BH — bathroom
Bathroom

Having a bathroom on board at this length is the whole argument for a trailer over a tent. It's a middle-of-the-night-at-9,000-feet convenience. Anyone who has walked to a vault toilet in the dark at Mirror Lake in September understands exactly what that's worth.

Weights, water and Utah grades

Dry weight is 2,640 pounds with a GVWR of 3,500, which leaves 860 pounds of cargo capacity. Those are the numbers to take to your driveway and compare against the sticker in your door jamb, because a lot of midsize SUVs and small pickups land right in this range. Being a genuinely lightweight travel trailer changes what towing feels like in this state. Pulling US-6 over Soldier Summit, or climbing out of Spanish Fork Canyon on a hot afternoon, a 2,640-pound trailer behind you is a different experience than three tons. Altitude robs your engine of power whether you like it or not. Starting light is how you give some of it back.

Fresh water is 20 gallons. Be realistic about that: it's enough for a weekend of careful use, and if you're dry camping for longer you'll want jugs in the truck bed to top off. The upside is that 20 gallons of water is only about 167 pounds, so you're not hauling a swimming pool up the grade.

Solar is where this one can get genuinely useful for Utah camping. A 200-watt panel with a 30-amp MPPT controller is available as an option, and it keeps the battery topped off while you're parked somewhere without hookups, which is most of the good spots in this state. A travel trailer with solar means you can take a forest road and stay a few days instead of hunting for a pedestal. Beyond that, the KZ Advantage Package, the KZ Convenience Package and the Off Road Package are all available on this model if you want to spec one out.

If you've been looking at travel trailers for sale in Utah and keep running into units your vehicle can't legally tow, this is the size class worth a serious look. It's a new travel trailer with bunks, a bathroom and available solar in under 17 feet, and that combination isn't as common as it should be.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the 130BH weigh, and what can tow it?

Dry weight is 2,640 pounds with a 3,500-pound GVWR and 290 pounds of hitch weight. Check your vehicle's tow rating and payload against those figures, since many midsize SUVs and smaller pickups are rated in that range.

How many people does this floorplan sleep?

Four. There's a bed area plus bunks, so adults and kids aren't sharing the same space.

Can I camp off-grid in it?

Yes. A 200-watt solar panel with a 30-amp MPPT controller is available as an option to keep the battery up, and you get 20 gallons of fresh water and 32 gallons of grey with 26 gallons of black. Plan on carrying extra water if you're staying out more than a weekend.

How tall and long is it for storage?

It measures 16 feet 9 inches long, 7 feet 6 inches wide and 8 feet 11 inches tall, which makes it one of the easier units to fit alongside a house or in a tall garage.

Does it have outside storage?

It does. There's pass-through storage for chairs, hoses and gear, and a single awning for shade at camp.

Come walk through it in person at our Spanish Fork lot, or pull up the live listing to see current photos and details before you make the drive.
